Humic acid is the most powerful and beneficial input in agriculture and yet there are still many growers around the world who are yet to discover revolutionary product. It remains a mystery as to why a substance so intensively researched and proven should remain so poorly understood and utilized.
The Black Earth Sales team had a successful week at the Farm Progress show in Decatur, Illinois. With strong attendance and over 500 exhibitors, The Farm Progress Show is one of the largest in United States.
Bringing Lanzones Back Into a Fruiting Cycle
Bio-Agritech Inc. is a progressive Agro-technology company based in the Philippines. They maintain a holistic and organic approach to farming and aim to improve soil conditions to help to resuscitate their decimated Lanzones fruit tree plantations.
What are the differences and how do they work together?
To begin we need to first understand the difference between humalite and leonardite. Both are referred to as ‘Humate’ products, and both comprised of similar materials. They are great sources of humic and fulvic acid, but per volume Humalite holds more of the active ingredients (Humic and Fulvic Acids), less of the undesirables such as ash and heavy metals, and is more easily extracted.
Over the past decade and a half, there has been a revolutionary shift in how soil scientists are approaching their discipline, particularly with respect to soil fertility for row crops. While the details of their hypotheses are still in flux, the broad strokes are clearly in place.
Walking through the fields, it is clear to see that the summer is starting to take its toll. Kicking up dust as you trod through the crop for an inspection. For some farmers, this is a normal thing and they see it year after year. But does it need to be?
Everyone in agriculture knows: water matters.
When the subject of humic material and water retention comes up, it often leads to a lot of discussions about opening up plant cell membranes, making it easier for fluids to pass and hold.
"Humic substance" is a term used to describe all humic products that container a degree of humic and fulvic acids.
It can be used as an alternative to names such as humates, humalite, leonardite, humic material or humic acids. The active ingredients within these materials are humic and fulvic acids which come in a range of molecular sizes. They all have slightly different functions within the soil and plant and are all vital for a healthy, biological soil.
It has long been known and accepted that humic material can help soil organic matter increase and this is largly due to its primary substance being humified organic carbon.
Occasionally, though, we, come across new customers who want to know how this process happens.
